Calling all epicureans…I just read this article, “Thomas Keller’s Top 5 Napa Restaurants,” in Food & Wine magazine and wanted to share the info with you. Food & Wine is the ultimate authority on the best of what’s new in food, drink, travel, design and entertaining. Superstar chef Thomas Keller is known as the unofficial mayor of Yountville, and as the Napa powerhouse when it comes to local restaurants. His restaurant The French Laundry, is one of my personal favorites. I also adore his bistro and bakery, Bouchon, and his casual offshoot Ad Hoc. Here are some of Keller’s favorite local restaurants:
“In Yountville, Richard Reddington’s Redd, is a wonderful restaurant,” says Thomas Keller of the sleek New American spot designed by New York architecture firm Asfour Guzy.
“Oenotri in downtown Napa is a great, simple restaurant that I like a lot,” says Keller. “Great pizzas and great salads.”
3) Tacos Garcia
“I like the Tacos Garcia truck in the parking lot outside Pancha’s. It’s just very simple, beef burritos,” Keller says about his favorite low-cost place to eat.
The superstar chef also shared his wine tasting tips in the article: “It really depends on someone’s sophistication about wine, ” Keller says. “Going to Mondavi or Franciscan is a great way to begin, as opposed to trying to get into boutique wineries where you have to make an appointment beforehand. If you can make the time, Ann Colgin of Colgin Cellars in St. Helena produces beautiful Cabernet and Bordeaux-style blends that are exemplary of the terroir of Napa Valley.”
I love all 3 Napa restaurants recommended by superstar chef Thomas Keller, as well as his eateries, French Laundry, Bouchon and Ad Hoc. I also love sharing insider information on quiet offerings of wineries, vineyards, estates, new construction and homes in Napa Valley.
