Get out your favorite wine country chic and get ready for the inaugural “Wild Night at The Castle,” the Wildlife Rescue Center of Napa County benefit. To be held at Castello di Amorosa in Calistoga on Saturday, April 4 at 7 p.m., the soirée will be an opportunity for attendees to enjoy sumptuous and savory delights throughout the evening, along with premier Napa wines. Stroll the Great Hall and Courtyard while listening to live period music. Meet some of the organization’s wildlife ambassadors up-close and personal including owls, hawks, raptors and Posey the Opossum.
This event is a perfect opportunity for locals to learn about the exciting future plans for the Wildlife Rescue Center of Napa County and find out what the organization is up to. Attendees can bid on unique and one-of-a-kind silent auction items and purchase a key that might just open their own “Instant Wine Cellar” filled with dozens of Napa Valley wines. There will also be an amazing live auction in the lower reaches of the castle’s barrel room, where the bidding will be fast and furious!
The Wildlife Rescue Center of Napa County was founded in 1991 as a nonprofit organization, working with more than 1,000 wild animals every year, including hawks, owls, raptors, songbirds and mammals. It is the only licensed organization in Napa County permitted to rehabilitate, then release healthy wild animals back into their native habitat; thereby providing a unique and valuable service to our community. The presence of healthy wildlife is a barometer of healthy ecosystems and habitats. Birds of prey such as hawks, falcons and owls are key to the continued health of the viticulture Napa is known for worldwide. Raptors are a natural deterrent to the over-population of rodents that can cause untold damage to crops, rootstock and vines.
There are also many different opportunities for volunteering; with some involving direct contact with animals.
